Mike met the love of his life, Brenda Lee, playing pool at Sammy's Bar and Grill in Kitchener. Their relationship was one of a kind through the good and the bad. Mike worked as an Industrial Millwright up until his retirement at age 70. Mike was a Jack of all trades always ending up where he loved in maintenance, there wasn’t anything that Mike couldn’t fix or figure out. In his free time, Mike and Brenda Lee could always be found gardening at their home in Kitchener, their number one shared passion. Mike cherished all of the time spent with his daughter and grandchildren, who he absolutely adored. Mike made many happy memories with his family at the trailer park in Cambridge, where they would spend their summers. In his retirement, Mike developed a love for his “brain games” on the computer and watching some of his favourite westerns.

Brenda Lee would like to extend a very special thank you to Gabe and Logan Trepaniar for their care and devotion to looking after and helping Mike throughout his illness, for helping with the many transfers and always being there for us no matter the time of day or hour.  Mike’s family would also like to send their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Bluewater Health and Bayshore Home Health for the care and compassion shown to Mike and his family. Special thank you to Dr. E Lilly/Amanda and Dr. Yoshida for their care and compassion and for the so many agencies we can't all name who provided Brenda Lee respite and comfort. This made it possible for Mike to spend quality of time at home till the end with his partner and best friend Brenda Lee and all their so loved pets.

As per Mike’s wishes, a private family viewing and cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In memory of Mike, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF FOREST.
