Obituary of Judith Elaine King
We are heartbroken to share that on May 9, 2025, at Bluewater Health, Judy Elaine King passed away peacefully following two major surgeries.
Judy was the beloved wife of the late James King of Forest, Ontario. She was the devoted mother of Shelley Goodhand (Forest), Kelley Parsons (Jay) (Forest), Dawn Corbett (Chatham), and Denise King (Sarnia).
She was a loving Nana to David, James Goodhand (Forest), Connor Hollingsworth (Annie) (Sault Ste. Marie) and Aiden Parsons (Emilea) (Forest). She was also a cherished Great-Nana to her grandson Henry Hollingsworth (Sault Ste. Marie) and a devoted caregiver to her fur babies, BooBoo and Pekoe.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Thomas “Cliff” Rogers and Evelyn “Bobbie” (Blenkhorn) Rogers. She was the loving sister of Cora “Anne” Rogers (Nova Scotia), Elizabeth Simpson (predeceased), Tom Rogers (predeceased), Roy Rogers (Nova Scotia), Jerry Rogers (predeceased), Dot Sweet (Vance) (predeceased), Emily Cunningham (Bruce) (Alberta), Jimmy Rogers (predeceased), Robert Rogers (Nova Scotia), Donald Rogers (predeceased), and Brad Rogers (Nova Scotia).
She was a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Born in Kings County, Nova Scotia, on September 30, 1950. Judy was the third oldest of twelve children. She was a caring sister and a devoted daughter. She raised her four daughters as a single mother before marrying James King and moving to Forest to build a life together.
Judy was a proud homemaker known for her incredible baking—her children fondly remember the homemade birthday cakes and fresh baking always on hand. She loved reading, knitting, sewing, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays, watching true crime shows, gardening, and especially her hydrangeas.
A hardworking woman throughout her life, Judy cleaned homes for many years—her clients became lifelong friends. She worked at the local OPP station, where she built friendships with the officers, and later served as a school crossing guard, where generations of children came to know and remember her kind presence.
Judy had a generous heart and a wonderful sense of humour. Her warmth, strength, and kindness touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Forest Legion (58 Albert Street, Forest) on
Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 1:00p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Donations in memory of Judy may be made to the Forest Legion.
