Obituary of Joe Van Aert
Joseph August Van Aert
It is with great sadness the family of Joseph Van Aert announces his passing on May 28, 2025, at the age of 91. A faithful servant of the Lord. Joe was the loving husband of Emma (De|croix) Van Aert for 66 wonderful years. Joe was a loving father and father-in-law to Joe (Connie) Van Aert, Tony (Anne) Van Aert, Luke (Sandra) Van Aert, Marlene (Fred) Boere and John (Chris) Van Aert. He is survived by 21 grandchildren and predeceased by Mark Van Aert (1996). Survived by 50 Great Grandchildren and counting. Predeceased by his parents August Van Aert and Leonia (Van Ginkel) Van Aert. He is survived by his family in Belgium including his siblings; Maria, Hugo, Ludo, Staf, Rita, Marcel, Annie and predeceased by his sister Gusta. Dad was well known for his love of his family, his faith in God and farming. He spent many years working alongside his family, took pride in his farm, milking cows and later turning to chickens. Dad also enjoyed riding his bike, gardening, sharing Vicks cough candies with all the of the kids, church and prayer, a few games of cards, and a little taste of rye.
Cheers to you Dad, you are loved to no end and will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received at Denning’s of Watford, 232 Warwick Street on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025 from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church, Watford on Wednesday at 11am. Interment to take place following the reception.
