With all our heartfelt condolences and with love from our family to the Wilson and Vanderhyden family’s. We are so sorry for your loss.
Franny and I have been friends since high school. We had so many good and crazy times together. We were invincible and new everything. What happened in Lambton County stayed in Lambton County!! Our adventures together will always be remembered.
Franny was bold, confident and a true friend with an unconditional friendship. I am so happy that we were able to visit with each other when I came home in September 2023.
Franny will never be forgotten and always be in our memories.
She is your guardian angel and will always be by your side. Rest in peace Fanny.

Al, Scott, Jeff & Families,
Vanderheyden & Wilson Families,
I was saddened to learn of Frannie's recent death. She was truly a very special woman ... I offer my sincerest condolences to each of you.
I admire the way your Mom lived her life and the light, love, joy and laughter she always brought to others.
Your Mom was just 17 years of age when we first met through the Forest Ladies Fastball Team. She welcomed me on to the field ... and taught me the "Forest" way of winning ... a few backyard BBQ's, a few beers & a few shots of whiskey. We rarely lost a game! One life lived ... many lives touched. I like to think your Mom has rounded up a favourite foursome in heaven ... Frannie, Ellie, Betty & Louie ... Lots of laughter shared on the heavenly course for sure that day.
"A star in the dark night sky, shining brightly for the one who will forever be in your heart."
Thinking of You ... as you honour Frannie.
In Sympathy & Friendship
Nancy McCormick - Calgary

Our deepest condolences to the Wilson family for your huge loss. I first met Franny many years ago when they moved back to Forest. She came out to Arkona to cheer on our baseball team for whom she knew them all. They asked her to share my position with her. Of course she was an unbelievable athlete and I was okay lol. She proceeded to tell them no that she could not do that. What a class act she was and remained. She was always smiling. I'll never forget her. Heaven has another angel. RIP Franny.

To All of Franny's Family,
Sincere condolences to everyone. I met Fran as a teenager who went out to play hockey in Forest with limited hockey experience and even less talent. She was very welcoming and could poke fun at my lack of skills in a friendly way that let me know I was a part of the team no matter what. Twenty five years later I went to Forest to play on a womens ball hockey team and there was Franny. We recognized each other and nodded. After the first shift she didn't miss a beat and stated " I see you haven't improved over the years", we had a great laugh. She was one of a kind as I'm sure you all know.Good memories sustain us.

Fran was openhearted and showed kindness without judgement to all that knew her. She was my high school pal and travelled on my bus. We were lucky to have been next door neighbors to Fran and Al for the last 6 1/2 years. So many chats over the fence and getting to know Fran was so nice. I’ve gained so much respect for her courageous battle. Hearing all of the wonderful stories of her athletic abilities and her modestly accepting the complements. I was only lucky enough to golf with her a couple times and felt as if I was with a pro, she was so patient and supportive. I just can’t say enough good about Fran, wished we only known her longer. Will always remember our chats over the fence.

When I met Aunt Fran I was 8 years old which would make her 13. Our family visited from Alberta that summer and it was the first of many more trips to Forest I was able to capture in my next 54 years. I remember when we made eye contact that day and she had that mischievous trademark grin of hers, clearly pleased to see that her new niece was around her age. We hit it off immediately and I felt like I found a big sister. Being the oldest in a clan of four, this was a dream come true for me. During that adventure on the original Vanderheyden farm, Aunt Fran taught me how to catch frogs, wander through the many trails around the property, play baseball, drive machinery and curse. It was the beginning of the beautiful, fun relationship I had with her that thankfully lasted up to just a couple of weeks ago.
Aunt Fran was one of those incredible souls that bowed down to nothing or nobody. She was a shoot from the hip, honest, hard working, generous with her heart and her time kind of gal. She loved life and she loved her people more than your average person does.
She invested herself into your life, as if you were important to her. Aunt Fran spent many hours travelling to visit me in Alberta and PEI always to share a drink and a laugh and tell stories along with playing a great game of Hillbilly Euchre, which she taught me of course. She was always there to listen if I needed an ear, to cry on her shoulder or to laugh at the silliness of life. I hope I will remember her with smiles more than with tears because that’s what she gave me. A lifetime of smiles. RIP sweet lady ~ I will never forget you…
