Obituary of William Downie

DOWNIE William Warren - Peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Four Counties Hospital, Newbury in his 79th year. Lifetime resident and retired farmer from Aldborough Township. Son of the late Fred and Mary Downie. A 60 year member of the I.O.O.F. Predeceased by his dear wife, Marie (Quinton) in 2004. Dearly loved by sons David (Lisa), Bothwell, Ron (Fran), Brian (Jill) and Paul (Dianne) all of Rodney, grandchildren Danielle (Brad) Simpson, Diane Downie (Greg Thornicroft), Corey (Roberta Cadogen), Jason, Darren, Sheldon, Brianna and Phillip, great-grandchildren, Atreyu Downie, Brady, Thomas and Chase Simpson. Also survived by his sisters Rena Preston of Pickering, Kay (John) Quinton on Ridgetown and Grace Audet of Rodney, sister in law Rosella Colvin and brothers in law George, Robert and Donald Quinton. Predeceased by sisters Marion Parker, Agnes Bentley and Ruth Wilton. Friends may call at the RODNEY CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Friday, August 12th, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am.
