EVANS, Mrs. Raya Mary

Surrounded by her family, Raya Mary Evans (Gratton) of Northville, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Victoria Hospital at the age of 78.  Beloved wife of the late Ken Daniel Evans (2003). Predeceased by her parents Bill and Grace Gratton. Loving mother of Denny (Tracy) Evans, and Rick (Helen) Evans.   Predeceased by her daughter Wanda Kim Evans (1960).  Cherished Gran of Andrew, Kymber-lei (Dave), Darren, Kyle and Great Gran to Jace, Mackenna, Jaxson and Karalyne. Dear sister of the late Ron (Debbie) Gratton, Joan (late Terry) Stuart, Harley (Dianne) Gratton, Inez Vance and Darrell (Sandy) Gratton.  Sister-in-law of the late Everett (Ruth) Evans, Ron (late Phyllis) Evans, Olive (Alvin) Stewardson, Alice (late Ron) Blenkhorn, and the late Ed (Maureen) Evans. Dearly loved by many nieces and nephews. Raya was a long time employee of MacPherson’s Restaurant, an avid lover of nature, reading and animals.

As per Raya’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Raya’s life will be held at the Forest Legion Branch 176, 58 Albert St., Forest, Ontario, on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm with Words of Remembrance being shared at 3:00 pm.  As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.forestfuneralhome.com   Funeral arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF FOREST
