Obituary of Roberta Glynn Henderson
Roberta “Bobbie” Glynn Henderson
On January 30th, 2020, at Watford Quality Care, Bobbie (nee McGee) Henderson passed away peacefully at the age of 89.
Bobbie was born on January 4,1931 in Sarnia to the late Glynn and Melba (Maxfield) McGee. Bobbie is predeceased by her husband John (2015) and her siblings Jackie, Laurence, Verna, Betty and Paul. Bobbie is the dearly-loved Mum of Jenny (Brian) Chalupka and Patti Henderson. She is the beloved sister of Allan McGee and sister-in-law Madeline Waterhouse. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kyle, Shelby, and Corey Chalupka. Bobbie will be missed by her cousin Blake Maxfield and his wife Martha and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bobbie lived a full life. She loved living and working hard on the family farm with John. In her fifties she returned to her passion, nursing, and worked as a PSW for ten years at North Lambton Lodge until her retirement. Bobbie was a longtime member of Forest United Church and enjoyed her years of teaching Sunday School. In her retirement Bobbie and her husband John appreciated their time volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society as drivers.
In her later years, despite her struggles with dementia, she would find joy in the little things. She loved her cat, looking out the window at the birds and squirrels, and eating out at restaurants! Her last years were spent at Watford Quality Care where she enjoyed the music programs, church, and art class. Bobbie’s family would like to express their appreciation to the staff who lovingly cared for her these past four years.
