Dear Jane and all of Eileen’s children and their families,
I am so saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. She was a beautiful, kind, caring, joyful, intelligent and gracious lady. My mother, Lorraine Kennedy, was your mother’s first cousin and it was obvious through our conversations that my mother loved her younger cousin, Eileen, very much. It was also evident later in life when my mother was not well, that Eileen felt the same way about her. She often visited and brought soup or some wonderful homemade dessert and they would enjoy a cup of tea and share some treasured memories from their younger days. These visits were very special for my mother. In the last number of years your mother, Brother Joe and Jim Darcy, Bernice Jamieson, Kathleen Sulley and my sister, Marilyn, and I would get together for lunch. We called it “the cousin’s lunch” and it was always such a pleasure to be in the company of such a wonderful, interesting, intelligent and remarkable group of people. I know that your mother is happily reunited now with your dad and Daphne and Heaven is a more joyful place with her presence. We will all miss her joyous spirit and her beautiful smile. May God Bless all of you.
With Love,
Allison McDonald

A bright ray of sunshine has left our world. Mrs. Collins was that delightful gem of a gal who sparkled for all who met her. The twinkle shone in her eyes and radiated through her laughter and chuckles. She was wise beyond her years... Some would say, an "old soul". But... Forever young!
How grateful I am to have come to know her. Thank you to Jane and Ken for facilitating a wonderful closure to a life fully lived. You made it possible for your mom to express her delight in enjoying every moment. We must take up her mantle and shine along! With a kiss and a prayer, I send all the Williams's/Collins's my heart filled condolences, love Sydney

Eileen was a kind and gentle lady and everyone who knew her loved her. She was my Mother's cousin and close friend. My Mom's name was Loraine (Kennedy) Power and her Mom was Mae Darcy. They were also close cousins of Jim, Doug and the late Brother Joe Darcy. When my Mom was sick and bedridden in our home in the later years of her life Eileen would always come and visit her and bring either a pot of soup or cake or something sweet and they would share a meal or a pot of tea together. That is where I came to know her well. Myself and my daughter, Gillian, would visit her in her Tiffany Lane Condo quite often and she would share many stories of times and events gone by which we found wonderfully interesting. We always shared a cup of tea or a beverage and sometimes she would have old pictures of the family and places from the past printed off for us. The last time we spoke was Christmas time when we called her at Jane's in Forest. She was in good spirits and we had a lovely chat. At this time I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Jane and family, and each and every one of Eileen's family, as well as their children and grandchildren. May God Bless you all!
Sincerely,
Marilyn (& Noel) White & Family

Brenda, Jane and family - my condolences on the passing of your mother - she was a wonderful lady. I recall running into her on several occasions in recent years - once at Guvnor's Pub where she was having lunch with a grandson and several times at the supermarket. We always had a chat and I was always met with a big smile - and after our chat I was the one with the big smile. We spoke of many things including her longtime friendships with her school friends which had endured for so many years. I enjoyed her company so much on these occasions. I know this is a great loss for your family but I know that you are all left with some wonderful memories - hold onto these at this sad time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sending condolences to my cousins and extended family during this difficult time. I’ll always remember Auntie Eileen for her beautiful smile, her happy laugh, and, of course, the Christmas ball! She was so unique, so authentic, thoughtfully dropping off fun little gifts to my young son, whenever we got back to St. John’s for a visit. She will be missed.

Dear Jane, Ken, Kathryn, Tyler, Alex, Bonnie, Emily and Sean,
I am so sorry to hear about "nan's" passing. It was clear how anyone who was in her presence, whether family, a friend or a complete stranger, she brought a little bit more positivity, kindness, and a good laugh to their day!
You are blessed to have shared an amazing last year together with such a lovely soul, surely with lots of tea, afternoon drives, and sweets.
Sending each and every one of you hugs. All my sympathy and thoughts are going out to you.
Love,
Mimi

To the family of Eileen Collins, we send our condolences. Although this lovely lady lived an amazing life, it is never easy to say goodbye. We met her a couple of times and remember her vibrant personality. She was the center of many family stories of our good friend (her niece), Vicki Collins. A special hug to Vicki and cousin Jane.

My sympathies and hugs to my cousins and their children at this difficult time. Auntie Eileen was the quintessential special aunt — full of joy, energy and wit — who I remember with great fondness for her many kindnesses and wise words to me and my siblings as we grew up in the extended Collins clan.
