In our relatively short residence on Michigan Line, backing on to Ron & Vanita's farm in the "70's I remember his laughter and his generosity as he fertilized our gardens each year, with a young Dwayne hanging out the tractor shouting, "Don't that smell good?" Vanita, life goes on without our husbands: just not as much fun for a while. Dave, Janice & Dwayne: fathers don't last forever, but memories are with us until we too pass on from this life. Dear Vanita...my heart broke when I heard of Ron’s passing. I know how much you cared for each other and how proud you both were of your children and grandchildren. In my lifetime, I never knew a person who didn’t light up at the mention of Ron. From our teens, all I personally have, are memories of Ron’s kindness and fantastic sense of humour.
