This kind and gentle soul loved his family so very deeply and was very dedicated to his dear wife aunt Helen. He spoke often of how proud he was of all of you and how he loved to watch you all as you gathered. He was one proud son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather....it was always such a joy to see him come up the laneway to visit the property he had his markings on. We miss him here too and will always be warmed by our many shared memories....still thinking of you all and sending love and consolences

My condolences and prayers to Greg,Doug and all of the extended family of Ross Prong. He was uncle Ross to me, and was someone who managed to light up whatever room he was in. Telling a story, offering friendly advice or singing along to silly limericks with family as his brother ( my dad) played guitar, Going for a ride in his Mercury. He adored his family, and we are all better people for knowing him.

I was completely shocked about Ross and Steve's passing. As you probably know, on this past August 4, Ross and myself met at Tim Hortons at the east end of St. Thomas for our annual visit together.
We left there and went to see the Elevated Park at the west end of St. Thomas. It's built on the old double track railroad bridge. It has wooden planks, and even sod to walk on. Several local artists have built beautiful pieces from steel that are displayed along the bridge. There are lots of benches, so you can enjoy a beautiful aerial view of the west end of the city.
We sat there for an hour or so and brought each other up to date in our lives. When I asked Ross how Steve was making out with his cancer, he told me he was still in treatment. It was a double shock to hear he had passed away as well.
After the bridge, we decided we would go to Shaws for an ice cream cone instead of our usual beer :)) We gave each other a hug, and headed home.
Little did we know it would be our last time. Ross meant a lot to me.
My deepest condolences for both your losses,
Ben Johnson

To the family of Ross Prong - So very saddened to hear of Ross' passing. On behalf of myself, my wife Vicki and our families please accept and relay to all members of your families our sincere condolences at this sad time. I got to know Ross' Mom and Dad from St Thomas years ago through my business. I was born, raised and went to school before meeting Ross when we moved to Forest in 1974. What a small world ! We got to know Ross, Helen and the family when the Optimist Club of Forest was formed in 1978. We were both charter members of the new club. I knew the boys for years through fastball and hockey. Rarely did their parents miss a game! Ross played for years with us on the Optimist 2- Pitch team. I always knew Ross as a fine gentleman and a real family man. He so loved his family would do anything for them as well as anyone else needing a helping hand. He was so proud of all their achievements, talking about them so lovingly as a proud parent/grandparent. These last few years I would often run into Ross at the post office, at the arena or ball parks or on the streets of Forest and would enjoy our chats and catching up on all the news. He so loved the family and the community of Forest and Lambton County. Lucky were those who knew Ross as a friend ! R.I.P. my friend until we meet again Keith Watson

To the family of Ross, please accept my sincere condolences. Ross and I would sometimes motorcycle pool together to work when I first started at Dupont. He daringly would ride the back of my 350 Honda after I picked him up at the Ipperwash store. He was a very nice fellow and will be missed by all. Pete Leduc

My heart is broken for all of you. This man was such a gentle soul who love and respected all who crossed his path. He had a genuine concern for those he loved and treasured them all. He told me it does his heart good to see his family together having fun. His love for his wife was immeasurable and when I was with each of them privately they had wonderful words to share about the other. It’s important you all know how you made him feel. His pride in his family was easy to see when he shared a story about all of you, his eyes would dance. He loved his community and he was quick to say so. He so enjoyed visiting with his relatives and his childhood friend in tillsonburg and petrolia and our whole house would get excited when the prong people where rolling in. Such cherished memories and for me I treasured the times you stopped in for a visit and we had quiet catch-ups about family. You where a blessing to us all and if buck rogers is listening this man completed his mission

My memories of my Uncle Ross were of spending time with him and Aunt Helen and my cousins as a child and young adult in Ipperwash. The love between Ross and Helen was real and the love they shared to their children and us (the extended family) was unforgettable. Always open to many joining them for weekends even while they tended their store. I loved talking to my Uncle Ross. Always a gentleman and a very caring, gentle soul. I will never forget his soothing voice, calm approach to life and the love he shared with his own family and ours. Rest In Peace, Uncle Ross Love Kim Devine

Our hearts are truly broken. Steve and I send our love and prayers to all of the family. Ross was a true gentleman and definitely the kindest softest man. The sadness his heart endured in the losses he survived should never happen to anyone. He will never be forgotten. We were fortunate 3 years ago just before Sawyer was born to have spent time with Ross at Groggs.
Cheers Ross. Rest well.
