First of all, I wanted to expressed my condolences to Archie’s family, his loss will be profound for you but I’m sure that over time your pain will be soothed by the many good memories of the husband, family and friend he was. I will always remember his wonderful sense of humour and the twinkle in his eye when he was about to share a story or joke. His advice and opinion on issues was always something I valued. And I always respected his example of giving back to his community, whether it was a member and Chairman of the Forest Community Foundation, local sports and service clubs and fundraising ventures. I was so sad to hear of Archie's passing. He was a great neighbour for many years. I'll never forget his kindness he showed me when Len was so sick. I had several dealings with Archie over the years, as a colleague in the municipal field, to a member of the Silver Stick Committee through the arena over many years, to a member of the Forest Community Foundation again for many years. Condolences from the Vanos family. I have known Archie for many years but really began to appreciate him when I joined the Silver Stick Committee. He was tireless with his support of Silver Stick. He loved to host the committee for our couch meetings and we got a lot of stuff done but Archie always made sure we had a drink and some laughs to go along with the work. He will be missed.

Dear Kae and Adam,
It is with a heavy heart that I send this message. Working with Arch for 10 years installing TV antennas, I learned so much about how to work efficiently, safely, and when it was time to take a break and go fishing! When my knees where shaking so bad on my first tower, he never made fun of me, but talked me through it and helped me overcome that anxiety, which in turn has helped me to overcome other fears in my my life. I have great memories of learning to drive a pickup truck, learning funny names for tools (like a screw chaser) and trying to figure out how his hands never got cold, even at minus 25 and windy!! I know this will be an incredibly difficult time and one that will never seem to end. Hang on to the good memories of your Husband and Father and he will continue to live in your hearts.

Kae, Adam, Tanya, Bryan and all your family. Our hearts are heavy with the passing of a great friend. Your whole family were so generous and kind from the time our children were young and Dan & Lauren always remembered that and appreciated it as they still do to this day. As you know, Archie, Oscar & I travelled a lot of roads together with hockey. The memories, good times & laughs that we shared are irreplaceable. And it was always entertaining and fun on Saturday Night Hockey with the McKinlay's and McKellar's. Archibald, as I always liked to call him was one of a kind. Always laughing, always smiling, always ready to help out. If you wanted to borrow something from Archie, he'd offer you three. The commitment he gave to his community through Minor Hockey and Silver Stick was tremendous. Hundreds of now adult children will always remember Archie. He touched many lives and always in a positive manner. Our memories of a great guy and a great friend will help us all smile once our hearts are healed.

Dearest Kae, Adam , Tanya and his special girls My heart is literally broken and sad. I will be forever thankful of our phone conversation last Friday as he called to check in on me ( like he always did). He was so pleased that I purchased my forever home last fall and told me how proud of me he was. I met Archie while working auction sales and we immediately hit it off. We both enjoyed a rye and coke, swore a little and we both loved the challenge of getting the books to balance. He was my good friend and confident. I always had nothing but pure respect for him. Listening to him share about the Silver Stick tournament and going to his grand daughters ringette games was always a pleasure. In fact last Friday he said Ringette will be starting up soon and laughed his great laugh. He was so proud of Kae and his family . Sending everyone heartfelt hugs as you mourn such an amazing guy.
