I remember my Uncle Jean as a gentle giant. Most of my visits were when I was very young. He was kind and very funny. I always felt loved and seen in his presence. I saw the love he had for my Aunt Flo and my cousins. I always wished that I lived next door rather than 2000 miles away. I send my love to my Aunt all my cousins during this time of healing. To a life well lived.

Spring and autumn Jean-Paul would come up north to our home. He and Real would go hunt moose and fish. When they got back home we all feasted. Good times were blessed.
Rest in peace Jean-Paul

A l'hôpital ...rien..

When I reminisce, the best memories come to the surface. About twice a year J-Paul came to make his rounds in the North to visit us and at the same time take advantage of it for either a fishing trip of a few days or 7, 8, 10 days of hunting. Sometimes he came alone but often he brought Fleur Ange and one or two of his children.
Always adventures more exciting than each other. We had built a camping trailer which allowed us to stay longer in the forest near a lake or a river.
Of course we knew all the good 'spots'... the fryer became essential, the girls too learned how to fillet fish. I still hear J-Paul say ''Fishing is extraordinary, catching a fish is a bonus'' Too true!
Here is a little anecdote:
At 9 o'clock in the evening, it is dark. Lise Anne and Yvon did not return. Imagine the concern of the father. JP and I retrace all the paths possibly taken... miles and miles. From time to time a moose appears in front of us, the nerves are at an end. At 4 am... nothing. An accident? At the hospital...nothing.. JP hastens a small search plane...voila, they are in the mobile trailer in good shape. All this time they were on the river very close to the camp, the pick-up was hidden behind the bushes. Imagine!
Another memory:
Our father was an old trapper. He had given us a place on a river where there was really a passage of moose. We (with a couple of friends) have built a small camp there. There was no better because the years (about 35) have proven it because almost never we came back empty-handed .. Of course at the same time we hunted with friends with whom we reminisce.
In the end a fabulous brother with whom I spent truly special times, calm, good natured, having values, respecting his neighbour. Listening to others and his family first.
Your brother Real

Mon Oncle Jean-Paul, my Dad Real’s best friend, fishing and hunting partner. My memories of you are your joyful laugh and sense of humour, you were so so kind. It was always a joy to have you come visit as we lived so far apart but know that it was a time that my Dad looked forward to the most. You will be deeply missed by all and never forgotten. May you rest in peace.

I have treasured memories of being part of the Forest Congregation & enjoying service breaks at your parents place. What a beautiful example he set & will continue to set. We look forward to seeing all that he'll be able to enjoy, experience & accomplish in continuing to serve Jehovah when he wakes up in the paradise ahead.

Your Dad was a very compassionate man and always ready to lend a hand to anyone who was in need. He was very hospitable and we’re welcome to visit anytime. The time will pass by quickly until we will be able to visit each other again. Dan. 12:13

So sad to hear. John will certainly be missed. We are so close to Jehovah’s end to this rotten world that we’ll see his smile again soon. Our prayers go out to the family and congregation. Larry and Connie McMichael
