Obituary of Doris Anne McChesney

Peacefully, with family at her side, Doris Anne McChesney (Frayne) passed away at St. Joseph's Hospice of London, on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 at the age of 82.  

Predeceased by her husband Allan McChesney (1999), her son Gene (1985) and grandsons William and Jonathan.

Lovingly remembered by her children; Bobbi (Rich) Saul of Lake St. Peter, Ontario, David McChesney of Kelowna, B.C., Joe (Cindy) McChesney of Calgary, Alberta and Kim (Dan) Green of Lakeside, Ontario, her grandchildren; John, Julie (Shane), Holly (Justin), Brandon, Jason, Ryan and Hayden and great grandchildren; Gavin, Ethan, Jade, Patrick, Jace and Nadine.

Dear sister of Viola Blais (late Leo), Bruce and Pat Frayne, late Murray Frayne and survived by sister-in-law Marilyn.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Doris was the daughter of Reg and Edyth (Cairns) Frayne and the daughter-in-law of Herbert and Kelso (Sheppard) McChesney.

She was predeceased by her good friend and companion Jack Dudman (November 2023).

Doris was a very talented quilt maker.  She made many quilts for all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Doris enjoyed coffee with her neighbours.  She had a green thumb but truly loved the winter months, card games and old recipe books.  A special thank you to all the people who cared for mom and loved her.

Friends are welcome to join the family at Denning's of Forest on Monday, February 19th, 2024 for visitation from 1-2 pm where a memorial service will take place at 2 pm.

Interment Arkona Cemetery following the reception at the funeral home.

If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Joseph's Hospice, London or the Forest Food Bank would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.
