Obituary of Carolyn Smith

Carolyn Smith (nee Shawnoo) passed away suddenly at Victoria Hospital, in London, on August 29^th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of being a great mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, stepmom and friend to many. She will be dearly remembered by her children Frieda Shawnoo-Plain (Andrew), and John Albert (Ashley), her stepson Frank Henry, and grandchildren Salvatore (Jr), Emmett, Layla, Isaiah, Sebastian, Halle, Chase and Blake. She was a beloved mother figure to Tiffany Shawnoo (Jerome), Danielle Waddilove (Michael), and Shawni George (Chris), and a dear gramma and auntie to Mariah, Waabigwan, Layleiannae, Derwin, Skylar and Syanna. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters Selina and Colleen (Cleve), brothers Kelly and John Shawnoo, and nieces Mary, Segwan, and Sunshine Rose. Carolyn was predeceased by her husbands Chester Smith and Lorne Albert, her parents Coleman and Leatrice Shawnoo, siblings Lee, Emery, Kevin, and Delina Shawnoo, and stepchildren Lorne Albert Jr, and Ronnie Albert. She will also be greatly missed by her best friends Sherry Bressette, and Greta Shawnoo.

Carolyn was known for her green thumb. If there was a plant that needed love and care, you could bring it to Carolyn who would be sure to nurse it back to health.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Kettle Point United Church from 3pm-5pm, and 7pm-9pm. A Funeral Service will take place the following day on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Church at 1pm, followed by an interment at Kettle Point Cemetery. A luncheon will take place following the burial back at the church.
