Obituary of Lori Ann Mackey

Mackey, Lori

Lori Ann Mackey (MacGregor), age 60, of Parkhill, passed away November 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA).

She was born to the late Albert MacGregor and Deanna Tebby, in Parkhill.  She graduated from North Middlesex District High School in 1982, married Ralph Mackey in 1987, and worked in administration after her children started school. Lori is survived by her husband, Ralph Mackey and children: Melora (Matthew) Rueffer, Cameron Mackey, and Michelle (Bryce) Cox.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Liam Cox and Michael Rueffer, and her sister, Marilyn Krueger and stepmother Bernice MacGregor.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dean MacGregor.

Lori was passionate about figure skating her whole life, starting from learning to skate at age 12, competing and achieving her gold dances early on, to coaching, to being an active member of the Parkhill Skating club as her daughters grew up skating, and finally working at the Skate Canada Southwestern Ontario section for 16 years.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 2:00-5:00pm at DENNING’S OF PARKHILL.  A funeral will take place on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 1:00pm.  The family would like to thank Strathroy General Hospital ICU and Saint Elizabeth Health Care for their compassionate care during Lori’s illness.  Donations in support of Strathroy General Hospital ICU, Saint Elizabeth Health Care, or MSA Canada can be made, in lieu of sending flowers.

Please join us in celebrating Lori’s life and legacy.  She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
