Obituary of Veronica Peternel

Peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, January 4th, 2012. Veronica Peternel of West Lorne in her 91st year. Veronica was born in Kostanjevica, Slovenia (formerly Yugoslavia and Italy). Veronica is predeceased by her husband Christian (1985) and her son Joseph (2006). Survived by her loving children Helen of London and Michael (Susan) of West Lorne and daughter-in-law Beth of Iona Station. Veronica will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Mallory (Chris) of Georgetown, JoLeen of South Korea, Jonathon, Jaymee of B.C., Sara, Joe and Mary Jane and her great-grandchild Sophie. Veronica is also survived by her brother Ivan Bucik of Wardsville, sister Paola Bucik of Italy, sister Maria Franz of Australia and many nieces and nephews in Australia, Italy and Argentina. Predeceased by her parents Anton (1963) and Maria (1975) Bucik and brothers Louis Bucik (1951), Sylvester Bucik (1988), Tony Bucik (2005), Joseph Bucik (2012) and sister Giselle Peternel (2004). Visitation will be held at the WEST LORNE CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS (202 Main St.) on Sunday from 7-9pm with a Mass of Christian Burial Celebrated on Monday at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church (132 Main St.). Interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
