Obituary of Mary Catherine Galvin
After a courageous battle with Cancer, Mary Catherine Galvin passed away on Aug 17 2014, in her 70th year. Mary is survived by her loving Husband Bryan of 46 years during which time they shared many adventures side by side. Mary’s unconditional love for her 5 children: Sean(Julie), Kerri, Kevin(Michelle), K.C.(Kerri), Shane (Keri) will always be cherished & never be forgotten. She will also be sadly missed by Emma & Nathan Armstrong.
As an avid gardener, Mary enjoyed time in her gardens. One of the themes in her Garden are Butterflies because they represent a beautiful state after a drastic change. Mom would want us to remember that her passing was not the end, but it was a change to a different state. She is able to transcend to another level where she would be able to continue to watch over and care for all of us as she has all of her life when she was here with us.
Another theme are Angels as a symbol of Hope, goodness, purity, protection, comfort and consolation. These are not only a reminder of what Mom provided for all of us, but what she will be continuing to do.
We think Mom wanted us to all have a place where we could come and be comforted in her presence. However, we know that we do not have to be physically here in her Garden to know that Mom will always be in all of our hearts.
Mary had many other varied interests including a flair for creating wonderful meals & desserts. She was famously known for the phrase "What can I get you” and she never liked to see an empty plate unless it was in front of a full belly.
I hope we can try to take comfort in the fact that Mom is finally able to rest now. She fought so bravely for so long to give us as much of her time as she could. She was always so strong & never complained.
Mom, we all love you and you will be forever missed and never forgotten.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has already taken place.
