Oh my, no words can described how shocked and saddened I am to learn of Mark's passing. We worked closely together at Patheon, Inc. and stayed in touch after we both left but somehow lost touch along the way. I know how proud he was of his little girls and this must have been a devastating loss to all of you. I myself lost my 31 year old son to suicide in May of 2015 and have never recovered. I do not know the circumstances of Mark's death but firmly believe that he is now in a better place and suffering no more. Deepest condolences to you all. Sincerely, Glenda Bennett.

It breaks my heart to hear this sad news!! I met Mark briefly during his time at Sanofi. He was a kind soul and gave me words of wisdom in hard times. We shared laughs and of course wilderness stories. My thoughts and prayers to his family during this time. He talked highly of his family, he loved his girls and was truly enjoyed taking them fishing more than anyone. Stay strong and make him proud.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. I had the privilege to work with Mark at Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals from 1989-1992. During that time, we became good friends and I have fond memories of fishing trips, golfing and listening to some very loud music. Although we went our separate career ways, we continued to keep in touch by e-mail and through Christmas cards. My last get together with Mark a couple of years ago was very fitting – chicken wings and beer. I will miss his infectious grin and laugh. We also shared something else in common – our birthdate. My sincere condolences to Kathy, Megan and Taylor.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I worked on numerous projects with Mark during our years together at Johnson & Johnson. I recall one experiment many years ago, which did not go exactly as planned. The end result was a wet, doughy mess. Mark went to his office to gather some data. In the meantime, I took some of the doughy mess and made a snowman about a foot tall. I nicknamed our snowman "Cody" due to the nature of one of the ingredients..I drew a happy face and buttons on him with a marker. When Mark came back, I said to him "It may not compress, but it makes one hell of a snowman!"We both laughed, took a picture, and sent poor Cody to scrap. I still have the picture of Cody in my office after all these years. It has reminded me that even when things did not go well, we found a way to smile. I hope Mark is reading these thoughts and smiling right now.
We all deserve to reach our twilight years and the peace they promise to bring.

To the Turnbull family,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. I met Mark about ten years ago when I started working at Patheon. I quickly realized that he was very strong technically, but his real strengths were related to his ability to work with people. His cheerful and thoughtful manner, coupled with his natural leadership and willingness to help others, made me feel privileged to have him as part of my team. It was not long before we were not only work colleagues, but we became friends as well. In the years that we worked together, and those which followed, he always spoke fondly of his greatest passions - his family and the outdoors. He will be sincerely missed.
Kathy, Megan and Taylor, please accept our deepest sympathies during these very difficult times.

I've known Mark since my first day at McNeil. He had the same car as me! Such a fun-loving guy, good sport, creative thinker (he's been the source of the strangest analytical requests I've ever had). It's still so hard to process that he's gone. My thoughts go out to the entire family. A bright light has been plucked from this world but has been added to the sky as another beautiful star.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark over this past year. I remember when he reached out to me and expressed interest in joining the project - he cold called me from Linkedin, and was so thrilled to come on board. Mark was a wonderful person, loving, intelligent, and a hard worker. I relied on him heavily, and I liked him very much. He spoke of his family often, and I know that he was extremely proud of them. I am so grateful that he was able to work close to home this past year so that he could see his family every day. If I were still in Canada, I would attend his service. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Mark for many years. We spent lots of time enjoying what we both loved best - the outdoors. We had many great times ice fishing, fishing, golfing and spending time together talking about work and the outdoors. Mark was always there to help you and didn't need to be asked twice. He went out of his way to make sure everyone's needs were met and his last. I am going to miss my friend greatly and being in the outdoors without him will never be the same.
I know he loved and was proud of his family tremendously as he always talked about the family and spent as much time with them as he could. My deepest condolences as this truly is a very sad time. Stay strong and if there is anything I can do, please let me know.
