We are saddened to hear of Frank's passing. We first met Frank and Margaret through our good friend Clem Bowman who lives in Sarnia. We will always remember Frank as a fine gentleman, a loving husband, a great storyteller with a great sense of humor. We always stopped by for a short visit whenever we were in Sarnia and last summer we were graciously welcomed into their home which was our last visit with Frank. He was devoted to caring for Margaret and meeting her everyday needs.
Margaret - we wish you pleasant days ahead. Thoughts and prayers going your way.LrF

Frank and Margaret were long term friends that my deceased wife Marjorie and I treasured. I have many stories that i have written about Frank. Here is one of them.
39. Golfing with Frank
I have been golfing with Frank since the time that we met he and Margaret at Victoria Estates in Florida. The first time we golfed with them he mentioned that they were from Canada, and we replied that we were too. He later mentioned that they were from Chatham in Ontario, which is only an hour or so drive from our home in Sarnia. A week or so later, over beer, Frank acknowledged that they did not really live in Chatham, but had moved to Forest, which is about a thirty minute drive from us. Before the season ended, Frank admitted they did not live in Forest, but only shopped there. They lived at Hillcrest Heights, a subdivision on Lake Huron about a 20 minute drive up the lake from our place. (I fully expected that he would eventually turn out to be our next door neighbour, who we rarely see). This is typical of my deep friendship with Frank - it takes time to tell the full story.
Early in our golfing experiences, we used to go to an old style country diner for breakfast before golf. It was great for bacon and eggs but that is about all you would want to order there. We had the same booth every time we went. One spring before we started golfing, Frank called to tell me that the diner had been renovated. I sort of doubted this but when I arrived I saw that Frank was right. The owners had put new duck tape over the ripped area on the back of the seat where I used to sit.
Frank is a gentleman at all times, but he also has a finely developed sense of humour. One time I was golfing with Frank and at the first tee, I made a mighty swing and lost sight of the ball. ‘Frank’, I asked, ‘did you see the ball?’ ‘Yes’, said Frank, do you see that tree over on the left near the 150 yard marker?’ ‘Yes’, I replied. ‘Well, it is either under that tree or 3 feet behind you’. I turned around and there it was, in clear sight of the entire team.
More recently, I had a great shot on hole #13 at Forest, straight down the fairway, not far from the green. ‘Gosh’, I said, ‘I sure wish I knew what I had done’, knowing that I rarely am able to duplicate a good shot. ‘Well, I know what you did, Clem, but I am sure not going to tell you’.
Everyone likes to golf with Frank, and I know why.

Frank was a treasured, fun loving and loyal friend to our family for many years. He and Margaret became good friends with my parents after meeting each other at Victoria Estates in Florida. The bonds of friendship between them were sealed once they discovered they in fact lived very close to each other in Canada. While Frank and Margaret had no children of their own, they were always very interested in our family and became like grandparents to our children and those of my brother, offering them all unconditional love and support through the years - no mean feat as our lives were spread out over the globe. Gifts and cards always arrived without fail. We are sad, but also honoured to have had Frank in our lives. We loved his humour & wisdom, his inventiveness to make something out of seemingly nothing & to see his passion for his greenhouse and the world around him. He was very good at making people laugh. We have photos of Frank and Margaret from our recent visits to Forest, which we will treasure. Margaret, you are in our thoughts. We will come and visit you on our next trip home.

Frank was a member of our Monday golf quartet at the Bright's Grove Golf Course. Frank had a warm and witty sense of humour. When the ball would go in and then bounce out of the cup, he would declare "hockey rules" and the shot would count. He also had the uncanny ability to tee off and land his ball on another tee located exactly where his ball landed! He once told my wife, Marianne, that I had taught him everything he knew about golf! You can only imagine the amount of laughter that comment generated when you know what a mediocre golfer I am. Frank lived his life in a way that every day was an adventure.
We will keep Margaret and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Frank. He always had a story to share and he was a delight to be around. He had a huge heart, especially when it came to dogs, and he would stop by our driveway and have a little conversation with Cinnamon from time to time. We have lost another fine man and Mr. Frank you will me missed.

We are so sorry we have lost our good friend and neighbour Frank. We had so many good times with Frank and Margaret over the years. Frank was a fine gentleman who made one feel so welcome in their home. He was known as Mr Fixit on the street. He could fix almost anything and was always willing to come to anyone's aid. Hillcrest Heights will never be the same. Paul and Lois

Margret your husband was such a huge helper and supporter of our Legion and community. As he read the names of the Veterans on our honor roll each year it brought tears to my eyes and I will never forget his dedication to Forest and community. You must be very proud to have had Frank in your life. God Bless
