I always enjoyed visiting Uncle Conrad and Aunt Katie. Uncle Conrad was a great storyteller and a very generous and loving man.

I am sending my thoughts to the family from Dublin tonight after what will have been a difficult day. What a faithful man Conrad was to stand by his friends, relatives and neighbours all of his life . And what a loving and kind partner for him in Katie, who stood beside him all of the way. That is the love I knew from this couple towards me. When I went through my cancer surgery Conrad knew and cared. It brought a few tears to know how much he openly made me part of his extended family. I always was welcomed into their home when I would come for a visit and even into their final room together with a kiss and hug-and a genuine heartfelt greeting. They were always happy to see Mike and I come. Always. I was a Felder with no reservations to them ! If Michael would come alone they would ask about me. I am so thankful to have known them both and feel so grateful that I had so many years to know them and share their stories from that first time they danced a mean polka at our wedding. There will be a hole here for those of us that are still left without you with us. But I am so glad that you both finally went to your final rests in sleep. No longer ever again to wake or rise another day to bear further loneliness or pain. I will visit you both when I return again to Canada as I will visit my own grandparents this coming weekend again in Mullifarry Ireland. Death ends our lives here but because of love it does not end our relationships with each other. Mike and I share that love together that you both gave to us generously. Both of you. Thank you for your kindness, and love and example to us of what it means to love and stand by each other until the end. You are both forever here loved by us and my hope is to meet you both again one day soon where there no longer will be anymore sorrow sadness or parting. Mary Lee (Mike's Felder's wife)sending you my love and support till we see each other again.

I remember this family fondly both when they were sharecroppers on the Queens' Line farm as well as later on their own farm where I visited many times and was always greeted and accommodated kindly. May they both rest in peace.

Conrad and Katie always treated me so kindly. They rasied a wonderful family.
I remember getting Conrad out of bed late one Winter night to pull my car out of the ditch.
His good humour and smile will always be remembered.
Rest in Peace Conrad.
