Obituary of Helen Grace Smith

Surrounded by family at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia on Monday, May 23rd, 2016. Helen Grace Smith of Plympton-Wyoming in her 81st year. Beloved wife of Donald for 58 years. Loving mother of Janice Smith (Ron King); Sheila Kerrigan (Dennis); Brian Smith (the late Marieta); Wendy Wilson (Brad); and Shana Smith. Helen will be sadly missed by her 7 grandchildren Kent and Bryce Kerrigan; Heather, Daniel and Kevin Smith; Katelyn and Amy Wilson. Remembered by brother Murray Smith (the late Helen) and sister Jean Cook (Lorne). Special sister-in-law to Jean Forbes (the late Fraser), the late Eleanor Helps (Gerald) and David Smith (Barbara). Predeceased by her parents Stewart (1978) and Grace (1981) Smith of Wyoming. Family and special friendships made through Aberarder Women’s Institute and St. James’ choir were cherished by Helen. These, along with faith and her creative talents brought her peaceful comfort. Special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice and CCAC for the tender care they provided. Visitors will be received at DENNING’S OF FOREST on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at Denning’s on Wednesday, May 25th at 11am with Rev. Joanne MacOdrum. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice (www.stjosephshospice.ca) or St. James’ Presbyterian Church.
