Dear George and Family
Gladys was a wonderful friend to everyone. She loved fun and laughter and we had both at our lunches.
Her faith was deep and she will always be remembered with a smile.
God Bless!

Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to all the Holbrook family. What a blessing it is to have a Godly partner and parents in life. After celebrating so many years together, it will be hard to loose this precious soul. But the legacy Gladys leaves behind is so wonderfully rich and the memories you have shared, Iam praying it will help to brighten the days ahead. She is with her Lord and Saviour and will be there to greet you on your arrival. May God grant you all, with that peace that passes all understanding.

Uncle George and Holbrook cousins,
I was so saddened to learn of the passing of Aunt Gladys. My thoughts are with you all as you pay tribute to a loving wife, mother and grandmother and grieve her loss.
How wonderful that you were all able to gather together in July to celebrate the occasions of the 65th anniversary of George and Gladys as well as her 90th birthday. What happy memories you will have from that time of celebration! I had a lovely visit with Aunt Gladys on the telephone the evening before the party and know how blessed she felt that so many people would be gathering together. She would have enjoyed chatting with each and every guest who was able to attend I'm sure!
The photo tribute posted on line also reinforces what joy Aunt Glady found in sharing time with family. It never ceased to amaze me how she could summarize "a year in the life of the Holbrook clan" in her annual Christmas letters, devoting a paragraph to each member of the immediate family and somehow always manage to stick to one page!!!
I will remember Aunt Gladys fondly as a gentle woman who laughed easily. I will remember how quick she was to set another place at the table and how much I enjoyed the food set upon it as well as the fellowship enjoyed around it. I will remember her creamed peas and peach pies! I will miss the conversations we shared about teaching and the ever-changing nuances (for better and for worse!) of the profession. I will miss her smile.
Treasure the memories of your time together and know that Gladys will forever remain a part of you - in what you are and what you do and what you are yet to become. Know how proud she was to be your wife, your mother and your grandmother!
With love and hugs,
Nancy Smith
xoxo
P.S. Rick and I are just concluding a week of hiking in the Rockies and have been away from the internet until tonight. We'll be returning to the coast on Monday so I will call to try to connect with some of you next week.
