Obituary of Corry Van Engelen

VAN ENGELEN, Corry Surrounded by her loving family Johanna Cornelia Van Engelen-Backx died peacefully in Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on February 23rd in her 92nd year. Survived by her best friend and loving husband of 68 years, Peter. She is survived by her children JoAnne Droog (Tom), Mary Lou Roder (John), Corrie Barkauskas (Harvey), Eddy Van Engelen (Zulma), Angie Van Kessel (Tony), Juliette Pearson (Don), Mike Van Engelen (Connie), John Van Engelen (Joan). Remembered fondly by her 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law Angeline Backx of Grand Bend, her sister Trees Toonders and sister-in-law Sjaan Backx both of the Netherlands. Predeceased by her son-in-law Karl Van Kessel (1976) and grandson Kevin (1985), her brother Gerald Backx of Grand Bend, her sister and brother-in-law Nely and Antoon Van Engelen of Forest and 6 siblings in the Netherlands. Visitation will take place at DENNINGS OF FOREST, 9 James Street South, Forest, on Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Christopher’s Parish, 68 Union Street, Forest, Ontario, on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
