Obituary of Norman Mumberson
MUMBERSON, Norman Allin
Peacefully with his family by his side, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia, on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Norman Allin Mumberson, at the age of 91 years, of Forest, Ontario. Norm is survived by his children Brian (Charlene) of Kincardine, Ontario, Mary (Dan) of St. Mary’s, Ontario, and Keith of Forest, Ontario. Predeceased by his wives Doris (nee Cartmell), and Dorothy Coombes), his father John, his mother Lillian(nee Russell), his sister Catherine, and his brothers John, Alan, and Robert. Also survived by his grandchildren Christopher, Angela, Tiela, Cristin, Ashley, and Hailey; his great-grandchildren Jessie, Gage, Alexandra, Jacob, and Paige, and one great-great grandson Beckett. In 1943, at the age of 17, Norm enlisted in the Royal Navy, and in December1944, he earned his wings at the Commonwealth Air Training Centre in Kingston, Ontario. He served with the 767th Squadron, Fleet Air Arm from 1944 to 1947. After immigrating to Canada, he enjoyed careers in finance with BMO and the Lambton Health Unit. Norm was a past President and member of the Forest Legion Br. # 176. Cremation has taken place. Private services to follow. The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the staff of the Sarnia Lambton CCAC and Dr. Crombeen and staff of St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia for their compassionate care and support in Norm’s final days.
