Obituary of Francis Knapp
On Wednesday, January 1st, 2014 in his 80th year and his 60th year of marriage. Francis Joseph Antoine Knapp of RR#3 Dutton. Lovingly remembered his wife Margaret (Hooley) and his children Joe (Ann) of West Lorne, Bernie (Emily) of Iona Station, Larry (Penny) of West Lorne, Theresa (Lonnie) McCallum of West Lorne, John (Cheri) of Wardsville and Margie (Wayne) Myers of Glencoe. Loving Pépè of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by 3 grandchildren. Brother of Philomene Pelcz and Monica Graham, brother in law of Mary Ellen Drummelsmith and predeceased by his sister Annie Meloche. Francis began his farming life at the age of 23 when his father passed away very young. He received his heavy duty mechanic licence in 1963 working for Carmen Lyons & Sons, Pop's Garage in Fingal, Otto Schneider - Rodney and Ross E. Wilson International - Glencoe until retirement in 1998 all the while doing custom work in between farming and repairing machinery. He harvested crops with the late Ken Huffman from Fingal for 30 years. He was active in farming in this year's harvest.
Friends may call at the WEST LORNE CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Friday, January 3, 2013 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Parish prayers will be recited at 6:30 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, West Lorne on Saturday at 11 am with visitation one hour prior at the church. Father T. Kuriacko celebrant. Interment St. Helens cemetery.
