Obituary of Jean Evans

Evans, Mrs. Dorothy Jean (nee Frayne) Born on September 27th, 1917 in Bosanquet Township and passed away peacefully on January 12th, 2014, at the age of 96. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Julie (Joe) Negraeff of Vernon, BC; her grandchildren Raegan (Dave) Denstedt and Morgan (Christopher) Kadonoff of Muskoka, her six great grandchildren, two sister-in-laws, Jean Frayne and Anna Evans, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Evans in 1984. Jean was the remaining of the seven children of Abram and Harriet Frayne. Jean grew up in the Forest area. She started her long career as a teacher here, continuing it when she moved to Toronto and Sarnia. In 2007 she moved from her Sarnia home of 46 years into Twin Lake Retirement Home. This was followed by a return to Forest at North Lambton Lodge in 2011. Special thanks to all the incredible staff at the Home for their warmth and caring. A Funeral Service will be held at the FOREST CHAPEL Of DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 9 James Street South, Forest, Ontario, on Saturday, January 18th, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. to service time. Refreshments will be served at the funeral home following the interment at Beechwood Cemetery. Jean was a 40+ year survivor of breast cancer.
