I had the privilege of working with PK for almost 5 years at OWS - he sure was a true gem, from teaching him how to use a Iphone to sending pictures and him being able to show us how the weather was and all his adventures he came a crossed while out working. Another thing that always amazed me was how clear, professional and amazing he was at clearing trains. Sometimes I would have to call him while he was working, I would get a "hold on" and then he would clear a passing train, I remember the first time I heard him doing it I said WOW that was pretty impressive he replied with I am only doing my job keeping people safe!
I keep waiting for his call, for him to tell me what and who was going to work next, or for him to walk through the front door with his chipper smile and witty humor.
Sure going to miss him! RIP my friend

So sorry to here about Smitty ,he was a very hard worker.I have a small backhoe and would often be called to help Smitty dig holes . My machine was never quick enough for him ,he was in the hole more than my bucket.He was awesome guy .I will never forget the fun I had working for Smitty. Will miss you Smitty.

I have worked with Paul for number of years both at CN and OWS. It was a great pleasure to work with Paul. He was dedicated to what ever task he took hold of, and did it with pride and respect for all involved. He will be sadly missed. I would like to express my condolences to his family and friends. I also would like to offer my assistance in matters surrounding his passing.. RIP PK you are being missed already and certainly for a long time to come.

A very sad day for sure . PK was not only a true friend , but a great hardworking co worker for me both at CNR and my business of OWS . I recall our days @ CNR when he became a yardmaster and he charged into my office asking for a twelve ft piece of rail . When I asked him why he needed it , his reply was because the guy responsible for grading the service roads is not doing a good job so I plan on hooking the piece of rail onto the back of my CN yardmasters pickup truck and as I drive through the yard I will be grading the potholes . ( I was the guy responsible for the roads lol ) for years after he left CNR he tried very hard to return as he lived in breathed the railway , however it was the company’s loss (CNR ) not to give him a chance to return . After leaving CNR and going into my own business @ OWS , PK and I visited lots as Deb and I owned a cottage directly across the street from his current home on Donaldson Ave. One afternoon we were sitting on the deck talking and he continued to ask questions about OWS and before I knew it I hired him. You couldn’t wipe the smile of his face .It would turn out to be one of the very best decisions I ever made . He was my flagging supervisor and ended up working on the CNR mainlines lol. Such a great and loving friend . This has hit me harder than anything else in a long while . He truly did a fantastic job and I am so very fortunate to have been able to call him a team member and a true friend . He often spoke about the love he had for his mom , sister and niece . RIP my good friend PK
