I was truly saddened to learn of Mel’s passing. I first met Mel when I was assigned to manage the Southern Ontario Region Service shops for Motorola in the mid 80’s. I remember Mel as a gifted radio technician and his caring way with both staff and customers. As I was not familiar with the area I could always rely on Mel’s knowledge and his calm support as he would always step forward without being asked when needed. Karen and I send our sincere condolences Janet to you and your family.

My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you today and always. Mel was a wonderful and knowledgable person and I have had the opportunity to work and learn from him over the past few years. He will truly be missed by many and always remembered by many. His kindness was always apparent in all he did and said. I am sorry I am not able to be there in person to remember his life. God Bless

Dear Keith & Lynda. Sorry to read about Mel's passing. I got to know Mel many years ago when we first purchased radios for our fuel trucks (J. P. Anderson & Sons Fuel Ltd.) He serviced our radios until I left the business in 2002. He was an excellent service man, always available, and an easy going guy to deal with. Our prayers are with you at this time. We now live just outside Collingwood, or I would have stopped by the funeral home to pay my respects. Paul Anderson

I first met Mel in 1977 when I was a new public safety sales representative for Motorola assigned to the Windsor-Sarnia areas. Mel was very kind in sharing his vast knowledge of Motorola products, systems and local customers. He was invaluable to my learning and I could not have succeeded without his assistance. We now live in the Kawartha lakes area and will not be able to attend the services but send our condolences to the family. Mike & Colleen David

No words can express how Susan and I feel on the passing of Mel. This was a shock to us. I often thought about Mel and how things were going with him and the family. Due to the distance, as we now live in Alberta, I appologize for not being able to make it to the funeral. Our prayers go out to you Janet,Cheryl and Shawn at this time of sadness.
