Obituary of Lyle Sitlington
SITLINGTON
"You gave us your love, but left footprints on our hearts"
With heavy hearts, but loving memories and moments to last us a lifetime, we announce the peaceful passing of Lyle William Sitlington on Monday, February 13th, 2006 at Watford Quality Care Centre, in his 85th year. Much loved dad of Ron and Connie Sitlington, Linda and Jim McLean, Rick and Janet Sitlington all of Watford, and Karen and Jim Biggar of Tillsonburg. Dearest grandpa to Patrick and Rebecca, Robyn and Tylor, Chris and Lauren, Mike and Martina, Lyndsey, and Kayley and Derek. Predeceased by wife Dorothy Creasey in April, 1992, parents John and Alice Sitlington, sisters, Winnifred Ellerker, Marie Ellerker, brothers Fred, Ernie and Harry. Dear brother in law of Mary Sitlington and Carman Ellerker. Lyle served in the Second World War as a Wireless Air Gunner with the R.C.A.F. 419 Moose Squadron and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Lyle was part owner of Barnes and Sitlington Egg Grading Station for many years before moving on to become a Canadian Immigration Officer serving in Sarnia, Toronto, and finally London District Office. Friends may call at the Harper Funeral Home in Watford on Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm where the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 15th at 2pm with Pastor Fred Darke officiating. Interment to follow at the Warwick United Church Cemetery. Legion service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday evening. Memorial Donations to the Watford Medical Centre and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
