A huge thank you to Jack or Jake as we used to call him in high school. Jack was my gym and phys.Ed. Teacher, basketball, track and field volleyball coach. Then when I left school he invited me to play squash and taught me how to play that as well. I believe my biggest lesson Jack taught me that no matter how good you are at any sport, treat everyone with respect and have fun, be gracious. Thanks Jack for my life lessons that I still hold in high value. Love Gerry

Jack was my track & field and cross country coach at SCITS. He was a very helpful and patient teacher and coach. He gave me guidance in developing my strength, conditioning and skill. I had the pleasure of receiving my Junior Athletic Award from him. I am a retired physical education teacher and I appreciate the valuable work he did in education. My condolences to the family.

Mr. Rome was my Phys. Ed. teacher and Track and Field coach at SCITS during the 1960s.
During that time, I got to know him more than any of my other teachers and observed the caring person he was to me and those around him. He was a great influence on me and I regret not being able to tell him so.
Sorry to hear of his passing.

Dear Beryl and family.....please accept my condolences as we await a glorious reunion. Ps 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints ...". Although there is sadness here, the Lord was thrilled to welcome Jack home. From what Carol tells me, Jack was a wonderful man and well loved by so many people....with a wicked sense of humour! :-) ..... Lois Jones

We would like to extend our condolences to all those who loved Jack. He was gentle and kind and had quirky ways of showing his love. Our children will always remember Grandpa Jack and his shed full of golf balls. Over the years, of his daily golf ball walks, he had quite the collection! Whenever we came to visit, to their delight, he would always gift the kids as many golf balls as they wished. He also loved to show them his latest yo-yo trick or put on a juggling or trampoline performance for their amusement. Telling people that he loved them was not easy for him for much of his life - and yet, he was full of love for everyone....so those silly, quirky, endearing gestures became his love language to our boys.
We will always remember him with fondness and a smile on our face - because he did just that: make us smile :)
Special hugs to Beryl (we love you).
And a huge THANK YOU to Kim and Jamie for supporting Jack and Beryl in these last years.
May we all be filled with God's peace knowing that Jack is at home with his Heavenly Father.

Our Dad was perfectly described by his granddaughter, Paige, as “the softest, sweetest soul”. He truly was a
“ gentle” man, slow to anger, quick to forgive and always seeking to understand.
Dad was my go to guy in times of strife as a young girl, a teen and in my adulthood , I could always count on his sage advice and unconditional love. He taught me many life lessons and I , in turn have tried to pass them on to his three grandsons, Paul, Tom and Luke who share many fond memories of their Grandpa Jacks playfulness and loving spirit .
Beryl, I am grateful to you for your love and devotion. You made Dad so happy! You truly were soulmates and his safe place to land. He beamed in your presence ! I am also grateful for the love and tenderness of Kim who so willingly became Dads caregiver during his decline - truly an earth Angel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Kim. And finally to my brother , Jamie for always being there for our Dad and giving him the gift of a rich father/ son relationship . Dad lives on in all of us but most especially in his eldest son. In many ways it is as if our Dad still walks this earth .
You done good Dad! Now you can reap the rewards of a life well lived. Until we meet again, With all my love and eternal gratitude . Leslie

Jamie,
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of your Dad. As you know, I knew Jack as my phys.ed. teacher, as a neighbour during the days that you and your siblings were growing up, as a teammate (Y Teen Town Basketball & city league) and as a true "character" whose vibrant personality will forever stay deeply ingrained in my memory of him. Please extend my sincerest condolences to all of your siblings and Laurie, as you go through this time of grieving together.
Your friend,

Beryl and family, we were sorry to learn of Jack's passing. He had a wonderful sense of humour and I loved how he made me smile whenever our paths crossed. A life very well lived, and now eternity with his Saviour. Although we are sad and grieve because he will be missed, we know that the separation is only temporary for those who put their hope and trust in the Lord. See you again, Jack!
