Dear Madeleine and family,
Cheryl and I were deeply saddened to hear of Hugh's decline and passing. The video was beautiful and cast a more complete light for us on his and your lives together. Having lived far away for 47 years, most of the photos were new to us as we only saw you a few times in Arizona and even fewer in Forest over those years. We are with you in spirit now and know how sad you must feel but the memories and experiences you shared will bring comfort as time passes.

As a teenager, I worked a few summers for Hugh. I was always treated with such kindness by the whole family. I've always treasured the memory of Hughie's "old man" strength still throwing bails of straw up on top of the loaded wagon long after myself and even Johnny had to quit. My heart goes out to the Wallace family.
