I got to know Melinda while watching baseball games in Forest when her grandson, Dalton, played on a Forest team along with my grandsons, Connor and Blake Forbes. She was truly a wonderful woman.

Melinda was one of the best people I have ever known. She was kind, generous, hard working and someone you could count on. I would never have made it through university without her help and support. Late nights of perked coffee and an assortment of cheeses, olives, pickles and crackers were a study ritual. Her humour and good sense made the craziness of social work bearable. I will always remember her doing crosswords and researching her family history with pride. She was the best of friends. A person of integrity and faith. I am so sad she is no longer with us…I had hoped to stay in better touch….but I am so grateful and lucky to have had her friendship!

Melinda was always kind to me, I used to take care of Harold . Melinda would visit when I worked and always took the time to talk and asked how you and your family were doing. When Harold passed she let us pick a token to remember him by, I chose a little figurine of a girl with a blue bird. This holds special memories for me and now it will remind me of Melinda. Sorry to hear of her passing she was a very kind and genuine person. she will be missed.

Dennis and family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Melinda. I have so many happy memories of the days we spent together beginning at the Green family reunions when we were so young, your beautiful wedding, the weekends spent with us in Frankenmuth, many visits at Ipperwash, and especially the years we were neighbors at Saddlebag in Florida.
