Ardis Charlottie Maxfield

Passed away peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Friday July 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 91. Devoted wife and best friend of Fred Maxfield (2016). Wonderful, proud, and caring mother of Bill (Cindy), Jim “Cricket” (Sandy), Cathy (Don) Fraser, Red (Darlene), and Dave (Konnie). Proud and loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren, and an adoring great-grandmother. Daughter of the late Ted and Ada Baxter. Sister of the late Lucy Bryson and Sam and David Baxter.

Ardis was a nurturing, giving, and caring Woman. All of the children in the neighbourhood and the town of Forest gravitated to her. She welcomed them into her home and fed them delicious homemade French fries, pizza, or anything she was serving that day. She loved canning, cooking, and baking. Ardis loved to hunt and fish. She was a member of the Bluewater Anglers and volunteered her service at the Port Franks weigh scales during the Salmon Derby for many years. She also loved to quilt and knit. She was a proud member of the Caring Quilters of Lambton Shores for over 20 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 9, 2024, from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at the Forest Legion, Branch 176.

Cremation has taken place.
