I remember wonderful family times at the cottage. Grandpa Uttley, Bea and Mae, Earl and Ruby with sons Bruce and Larry, Doug and Marjorie with son Jim and daughter Pam, all the Dales , and my Mom and Dad and sister Libby and brothers Dave and Chris. I think my Mom's brother Joe was also there along with his wife Norma. We swam, and ate and talked and ate played ball and ate with this wonderful group of people. Melvin will be remembered for his hospitality to the Uttley side of the family. To Catherine, Mary Beth and Anne and your families, I am sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Patricia ( Uttley ) Poser

Dear Catherine, Anne and Mary Beth and Families. We are so sorry to hear that your father, Melvin, has died. We no longer get the London Free Press, so just noticed the obituary when checking the paper online this evening. Had we known, we would definitely have been at the service this afternoon. I have sent notices to my sister Pat, and to Bruce Uttley. Our sympathy to all of you. We hope that you have many good memories of your father to comfort you.

My paternal great grandmother was a Dale originally from Westminster Township. Several years ago, I visited Melvin in Forest with my father Jack Rosser with regard to the Dale family historical records he had compiled. I really enjoyed the afternoon with him and Mrs. Dale and was so impressed with his research skills and various interests. It was a pleasure to meet him. My sympathy to the family.
